A friend of mine passed on today
And left me in a saddened way

For he met life with a rugged zest
His goal was ever to surpass his best
He stood four-square to every test

Boon snatched up my heart at the age of five weeks, standing free with Vizsla pride, ready to sail the high seas of a good Vizsla life. We never looked back. It was full speed ahead sailing on a voyage with a true Breed Ambassador. Most of the Behi breeding clearly showed Trixie to be the most dominant in the majority of individuals. But Boon owed his life success to the Behi foundation stud Trump, Ch Szekeres Kelet Szel CD with his very kind temperament & willingness to please.

Boon's temperament was his flagship & wave it he did to all who came near. He took into custody all who met him. Even at nearly sixteen years of age and on a "day to day" basis, he was always ready to go byebye & that next great adventure. During his lifetime, I was never permitted to give any dog any command BUT him, without him screaming in the forefront or background. “Do ME, Do ME !!!” Boon was all about being "The Vizsla" whether the next great adventure is in the field, the show or in your arms.

Looks like an angel, don't he? Whelp the two pictures with Boon swaddled in beige blankies is after one of his
"dead dog tricks" that he has been pulling on me for the last two years. Each time he goes "down" (frequent), I am convinced
this is the last time. And each time he has come back to me. It's obvious to see he isn't done with his life yet. Photos by dlb
I have always enjoyed looking at my boy. His head clearly defines the breed words "noble" and "aristocratic".

Boon so loved living on a 150 acre Ky State lake that in order to be THE best jumper/retriever he would run back to the house's front door to add length to his gangplank jump where he would either soar over the top of the other dog OR....as you see in the middle picture deliberately landing ON the other dog; Boon with siblings & mother Umber. Boon's show career was short & casual. He has a Best of Breed at a Specialty, A Group III & was the only Special in the final cut in Florida @ The VCA Specialty to not receive an Award of Merit.

ABOUT BOON's PEDIGREE
Boon's pedigree is very closely linebred on DC Behi's Csinos Csiny CD HOF (Trixie) & CH Szekeres Kelet Szel (Trump). What we have discovered in dogs from Behi to look to one of the four grand-parents for that dog's looks, traits & behavior. That held true with Boon who looked & acted like his grand-father BISS CH Scare A Moochee of Behi and Scare's grandsire CH Szekeres Kelet Szel. Usually it is Trixie who shows up in Behi dogs & does it in spades. But every now & then a kind-hearted soul that would never dream of schemes like Trixie was, shows up & it is such a pleasure to travel back instantly to what a wonderful dog Trump was, to Behi & the rest of you's. Trump was so very very handsome. It's a shame that back then many Sporting judges thought it a fault to single-track.
There are still descendants of Boon out there floating about. But he refused to breed naturally. I came to think that despite his handsomeness, desire to please & kindness, I took him out of the breeding pool because of his inability to figure out how to have reproduce. In retrospect, his leaving leaves a much larger void as I don't have any BooBooButtHead puppies, but I have frozen on his sire DC AFC Mudsville Lorac Makk. Who knows? Maybe my ButtHead will come back to me. That's the one thing I have learned in Vizslas. They leave themselves behind in little pieces still singing the songs of the family.
